PALMERSTON NORTH Bishops, clergy, parishioners and family members gathered in Palmerston North on September 29 to celebrate Bishop Owen Dolans 80th birthday with a Mass of thanksgiving at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit. Bishop Dolan was joined by Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Charles Balvo, Bishop Barry Jones of Christchurch and Bishop Peter Cullinane from Palmerston North, along with 21 priests and Deacon Vince Onesi, who is soon to be ordained.
In his homily, Bishop Dolan spoke of human life as a gift from God. Lets look upon it as too precious to get tired of.
He said that was at the heart of the message of John Paul II healing the sick, restoring people to life, feeding the hungry.
