The Pompallier Shield refers to an Auckland Catholic competition between 16 Catholic colleges from across the diocese competing in senior oratory, junior prepared speeches and senior, junior, and Maori Scripture readings.
Meggy Laguda won the Junior Scripture Reading category and Cuan Pillay the Senior Scripture Reading.
Strong performances from other team members helped to accumulate enough points overall to bring victory to Sancta Maria College: Niel Kulkarni (Senior Oratory), Cameron Carter Chan
(Junior Prepared Speech) and Henry Elliott (Maori Scripture Reading).
