For its first initiative the newly formed Warkworth-Puhoi Catholic Parish Social Justice Group will host a local area presentation of the Salvation Army’s report, A Mountain All Can Climb, originally released to New Zealand in February this year.
The report, which can be read and downloaded from the website: www.salvationarmy.org.nz/socialpolicy covers the areas of children’s wellbeing, crime and punishment, work and incomes, housing and social hazards, including alcohol, drugs, gambling and debt.

Report author Alan Johnson will make the presentation on Monday, April 20, at 7.30pm in the Puhoi Church of Sts Peter and Paul, to an audience from the local Catholic parishes of the Wellsford, Warkworth, Helensville and Hibiscus Coast areas, as well as from other neighbouring churches.
Interested members of the public and people from local welfare and caring organisations will be especially welcome.
Mr Johnson, a social policy analyst with a Catholic background, will orient his presentation towards Christian principles of social justice.
The organisers are looking forward to the evening as a wonderful opportunity for ecumenical interaction, says parish social justice group representative Judith Williams, email: [email protected]
