Invercargill man Sailor Sam returns and talks to students

INVERCARGILL —Former St Theresa’s Primary School and Verdon College student Sam Shannon visited both schools recently after returning
from overseas service.

Mr Shannon spoke to years 12 and 13 students at Verdon College about his time in the Royal New Zealand Navy. He had just returned from
seven months away protecting international waters.
Mr Shannon shared stories and experiences from his past three years since joining the navy.
Mr Shannon also encouraged students, speaking to them of the need to
persevere with their dreams, and the importance of the gift
of faith.
He gave students useful information about career choices and urged them to work hard and to study hard so they could achieve their
goals and dreams.
Staff and students at St Theresa’s Primary School, Verdon College and North Invercargill parish are proud of Mr Shannon and what he has achieved so far.
