Solemnity of Christ the King at St Benedict’s

As we approach Advent with ever increasing speed, preparing these weeks with family for feasting and giving thanks, let’s take a few moments to consider how we’ll celebrate this coming 34th Sunday, the last of the liturgical year, the Solemnity of Christ the King.
Every New Year starts better when we finish the old one well.
This year on the Solemnity of Christ the King, Msgr Paul Farmer, parish priest of St Benedict’s Church, will preside over a special eucharistic adoration on Sunday November 24, 7pm at St Benedict’s Church, 1 St Benedict’s St, Newton.
We will gather on this day to mark the end of the year of faith.
The Blessed Sacrament will be taken in a procession. There will be adoration, praise and worship, silent prayer, Scripture and Gospel readings, followed by Benediction and a recessional hymn.
What a blessing to be able to come before the Lord exposed in the monstrance, Jesus Christ truly present in the Eucharist. Untold blessings from heaven continue to flow in abundance.
Will you spend one hour with him on November 24?
Please join us, and bring a candle for the procession.
