Where does the money come from, what is the goal? In an era where we use wooden patens and felt-banners to signal our simplicity why do we build new schools worth 100s of millions? If it’s to educate in virtue and gently influence society then I look forward to a “no” vote against Euthanasia…

At the same time this article forgets the operational grant funding of integrated schools by the government – i.e. the funding of teaching operations including the salaries of all the staff.
Without that funding, school fees would be $15-20k per annum and the whole problem of this piece would sink without trace. Could it be that we, along with all the Anglican integrated ‘private’ schools, are addicted to integration and the leg-up it gives the “Catholic education sector” to maintain social-profile?
Peace.
