He was from Boston Massachusetts, USA. His name was Samuel Lamont Banks. His name first appears in the US Navy Muster Rolls in March 1942. He is listed as Ships Fitter Class His service number was 250 22 97. On 9th March 1942 he transferred with USNR V6 Branch to the the recruiting Station in New York where he was put on duty at the Mobile Base Hospital No 4 His USNR V6 classification meant he worked in Naval Construction which include building barracks, hospitals and repairing ships. The insignia from photos we have on his uniform means he was in construction. Any information you may have that can help me find what happened to him woul be appreciated. David Littlejohn.
